Traumatic Hand Injury

Patient History

Patient is an 18-year-old male with traumatic hand injury post motor vehicle accident. There is significant loss on the left hand, needs a better granular base before a split-thickness skin graft (STSG).

Treatment

The wound was debrided and washed out, Restrata Sheets were applied to wound at Week 0, Week 2 and Week 4. The healing progression continued throughout Restrata applications.  

Conclusion

Patient healed via secondary intention, no longer required a STSG.  Patient had 70% mobility by Week 4. Remodeled skin showed minimal scarring and contracture.
